Safety shoe selection guide, guarding every step of your life

A reliable pair of safety shoes is really important! But there are various products on the market, how to choose?

Step 1: Identify the “New National Standard” GB 21148-2020

✔  Starting from August 2021, safety shoes are required to comply with the latest national standard GB 21148-2020, replacing the old version of the standard (such as GB 12011-2009).

✔  The new national standard has stricter requirements for the anti smashing, anti puncture, insulation and other performance of shoes

✔  When making a purchase, be sure to ask the merchant: “Is the execution standard GB 21148-2020? ”

Old label products are still available during the transition period, but it is recommended to prioritize the selection of new labels

2. Select protective functions according to work scenarios

Safety shoes are not a universal solution, different professions require targeted protection!

✔  Anti smashing and anti pressure: The toe of the shoe comes with a protective cover, with an impact resistance of 200 ± 4J/100 ± 2J and a pressure resistance of ≥ 15kN

✔  Anti puncture: Steel plate/composite material embedded in the sole of the shoe

✔  Electrical performance: Suitable for electricians, etc., and must comply with the electrical performance level of GB 21148-2020

✔  Oil resistant and anti slip: The outsole material is selected from oil resistant rubber, with deep patterns and anti slip properties

✔  Insulation: Set the heating plate test temperature according to the characteristics of the shoes, and the temperature rise on the upper surface of the insole should not exceed 22 ℃ after 30 minutes

✔  Cold protection: The temperature drop on the upper surface of the inner bottom after testing should not exceed 10 ℃

3. Material safety cannot be ignored!

Attention when purchasing:

✔  The lining is breathable and soft, with no irritating odor

✔  Prioritize choosing brands with environmental certification

4. Self inspection checklist for comfort details

✔  Size: Leave a 1cm gap between toe and toe to avoid squeezing

✔  Sole: When bent, the crease is at the foot joint, otherwise it is prone to fatigue

✔  Upper: High top protects the ankle, low top is more flexible (choose according to needs)

5. Regular maintenance to extend lifespan

Safety shoes are not meant to be worn out! I suggest you:

✔  Place in a dry and ventilated area to prevent mold growth, regularly clean surface dirt, and avoid residual corrosive substances

✔  Protect the deformation of the package head or damage to the lining. If any is found, stop using immediately
